Prepare your wing by either treating a feather of your choise with a flexible varnish like Dave's Flexament or by putting on a strong construction style tape. Next cut or burn it to the caddis shape. I have used a feather from a soft hackle (hen) neck which has a nice speckled brown colour.

Next tie in the wing upside down over the hook eye.
