Sida 1 av 6 Red tagHook: Any dry fly hook, preferably a short shank hook like Patridge TDH Tail: Red wool Abdomen: Peacock herls Hackel: Brown The Red tag is a classic fly that can be tied in both a dry and a wet version. This one here is tied as a dry fly, but can easily be switched to a wet fly by switching the hackel to a soft wet fly hackle like hen cape or simillar. The fly goes back to the mid 1800 and the originator is supposed to be a gentleman named Martin Flynn in Worchester, also the orginal name is "Worchester gem". Here in sweden the Red tag is known as a great grayling fly, my own experience is that it sometimes works just aswell for trout. This is a simple fly to tie and for alot of us it was the first dry fly we learned to tie. .
