Klinkhammer special

Hook: 12-18 emerger like Gamakatsu F-22 or Patride 15BNX
Abdomen: Dubbing och choise
Wing: White polyyarn
Head: Tying thread
Hackel: Grizzly or brown

Hans van Klinkens very popular and extremy efficient emerger patter is a modern classic. This has to be one of my all time favourite dry flies.

By varying the body colour and the size of the fly you can imitate almost all types of insect that emerg on the surface. I normaly fish two different ones, this greenish olive version and one brownish red one. Compared to the orginial pattern I skip the spiderweb thread for the hackel, you might loose a little in durability but you can tie it alot faster.

This fly has a almost magical ability to get even the grumpiest fish to rise, both when letting it drift free or when you make it move on the surface. The grayling loves it and so does the trout!
