Hook: T10-6H/F
Thread: Uni 6/0 Black
Tail: Green ostrich, green crystal flash
Wing: Blue crystal flahs and Peacock herls
Collar: Yellow marabou
This has over the years become one of my favourite pike flies. I first tied this up for the “Elmer goes pike” trip in april 2002 as one of many new pike flies to test and then went out by myself a week before the trip to test the flies, this one caught me four pikes and a 4 kilo Seatrout, so I guess you can say that it really proved itself!
Tying it is pretty straight forward. The stiff peacock herls gives the fly a nice “back” and the ostrich makes it wiggle and pulsate in the water, very tempting for the pike. As with all pike flies you should always fish the fly all the way in to your feet, I have had so many pikes taking this fly just by the boat or just before I was gonna lift the fly up for a new cast.
The name comes from my home waters at “Torö” where it has proven time after time to be a real “killer”!
